2008-01-04 Adnaco launches PCI Express and Hi-Speed-USB Extensions Over Fiber Optic.

BURNABY, BC, January 4, 2008 – Adnaco Technology, a private Canadian company focused on the development of low-cost, transparent PC Chassis extension solutions well beyond the limit imposed by copper cable, has launched its Adnaco-Sirius™ Products Family (patents pending) which bring USB, PCI, PCIe (or any other standard computer buses/interfaces/peripherals) “out of the PC” extending them to distances up to 250 meters.  By using PCIe as the “physical communication protocol” for any other high-speed computer protocol, Adnaco’s products maximize data transfer rate and, unlike other solutions on the market, the extended buses are fully-compliant with its respective specifications.

The unique feature of the Adnaco-Sirius technology is its transparent access to remote devices without compromising performance.  Our PCIe tests show we can transmit at 2.5 Gbps per lane at 250 meters with a data transfer rate from Peripheral to PC (or vice versa) of approximately 1648 Mbps.  On the other hand, our Hi-Speed-USB tests show we can transmit at 240 Mbps from “hardware to user memory” at 250 meters (physical transfer rate of 480 Mbps).

Installation of the Adnaco-Sirius Products is simple and requires no additional drivers for remote devices.  The fiber optic link is transparent to software applications and drivers, so industry-standard desktop computers and servers can communicate with remote devices with no additional programming.

“Our performance results have substantially pushed the state-of-the-art in the area of remote PC Chassis.  The Adnaco-Sirius Products Family offers the newest, lowest-cost and most-efficient technology for peer-to-peer communication in embedded systems today.  The use of Direct Memory Access (DMA), compared with LAN or TCP/IP-based implementations, maximizes system performance (especially throughput), while substantially reducing total system cost and development time”, commented Marcelo Baru, Business Development Manager for Adnaco Technology.
About Adnaco Technology

Adnaco Technology is a private Canadian company focused on the development of low-cost, transparent PC Chassis extension solutions and the new applications they enable.  We provide consulting, development, and manufacturing services to companies in the industrial, military, IT and medical markets where high-throughput data, full electrical isolation, high-temperature survivability, small size and low power are standard requirements.

By having removed the PC on the remote side, Adnaco Technology can provide customers today with the simplest, lowest-cost, standard solution for their previously complex (high-performance) remote access requirements.

The Company’s Development Team has core competency and an outstanding track record in designing advanced embedded systems for marine radars, industrial precision measurement systems, high-speed and multi-channel data acquisition systems, telecom test equipment and medical devices.
